Preselling With Content
I'm absolutely sure that you've heard the phrase:
Content is King.
Well, if content is King, then pre-selling is even more important. It's kind of like the Emperor or Pharaoh of content because preselling is crucial to making money with your content. Without acquiring the skill of pre-selling, writing content is a waste of time for the internet business.
After all, we all write content so that we can gain traffic and earn revenue in one form or another.
Pre-selling is really your major ticket to earning revenue from your content.
hink about it for a minute... What kinds of content do you generate revenue with?
- Articles
- Reviews
- Guides, how to's, and recommendations
- Blogs and message boards
- Audio recordings
- Videos
- Free ebooks
- Free ecourses
- Email autoresponders
All of these types of content provide excellent opportunities for pre-selling. In fact, if you aren't pre-selling in all of these types of formats, you are leaving a lot of money on the table.
You hear *gurus* talking all the time about how important it is to write content for your website because it brings organic search engine traffic to your site... but all that traffic in the world won't do you much good if you don't have a way to monetize it... That's where the art of preselling really comes in.
For online businesses, preselling WITH your content is really where all the buzz should be... not on the content itself.
If you aren't providing any type of content on your website, then you are missing a huge opportunity to build a warm relationship (putting your visitors in a warm, willing to buy frame of mind as the SBI master would say) with each of your visitors.
Of course, there are exceptions...
There are certain types of websites that are build only for sales and nothing else. In other words, there is no content… only a sales page.
These types of websites are only intended to make the sale. The website owner usually owns other websites that do the pre-selling or they have an army of affiliates to do it.
Nearly every other type of website tries to build a relationship with their visitors and uses pre-selling in one form or another. Using your content to presell your visitors on your products or affiliate products is the best way to kill two birds with one stone (although I'm not really in favor of actually killing birds).
Content helps you build your organic search engine ranking and using the same content to presell all that traffic helps to boost your bottom line.
There are several techniques, tactics, and strategies for preselling your website visitors. Over the coming months, I'll be adding new articles to this section of the website so that you can learn the art of preselling for yourself and start preselling your own visitors. I guarantee that preselling will seriously increase your income.
In the meantime, you can learn more about the art of preselling by downloading this free ebook all about preselling called Make Your Content PREsell. I guarantee you'll get some great information in this meaty ebook... and it's completely free -- no strings.
